A Great Week After A Loooong Break!

Well, after six months of meeting as a rec program, I figured it was time to start a blog about it. After several weeks off due to the crazy snow of 2010, we met this week and had a great time.

This weeks activities included:

  1. 2 Easels for free painting
  2. Painting with Mardi Gras beads
  3. Stamping with Valentine’s cookies cutters
  4. Cinnamon ccented salt dough
  5. Collaging with scraps of fabric and foils

I think everyone had a great time, the salt dough being an extra huge hit. Many caregivers who have been with the program for a few months have noticed that their children are spending more time at each table creating.

Love the pic of the “same stuff, different outcome” !!!

I’m so glad the buttermilk and chalk worked out. What a bummer that we had to miss it. It’s the one art project I remember from Elementary school.

I love the contrast in the collages. It really does show how with the same materials two very different things can emerge.

PS- I love that you are now blogging about the art center.

I am enjoying your blog about children’s art very much. Please remind your readers to visit my website where they can find FREE art activities from each of my books. FUN! There is nothing I enjoy more than doing art with kids, and your blog is another window into the happiest place on earth…the mind of a child creating.
